You gotta check out Pandora

Best internet radio idea EVER.

http://www.pandora.com/

Here’s the basic idea: go to the site, type in your favorite artist or favorite song. Pandora creates a playlist for you based on the types of instruments used in the song, the genre, and a host of other factors. A lot of indie artists in the mix, so your playlist isn’t Clearchannelized – and best of all it’s FREE.

DID YOU HEAR ME??? FREE!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING STILL READING MY CRAPPY SITE? CLICK ON THE LINK ALREADY!!

Thanks to Kevin, who gets a black & tan on me for turning me on to this site…

[EDIT]
OH OH OH… and if you hear a song you like… right click on that bitch and you can buy it from iTumes OR Amazon! I’m just so impressed. Playing “Abra Cadaver” right now… the Hives just rock you know…

Do you have a special place in your heart for the smell of styrofoam and ozone?

Some people associate the smell of cookies, or turkey, or pine with Christmas. Me? I remember the smell of electronics… Funny, when I take customers on tours of one of the hosting centers that my company runs, each time we go into the UPS/electrical room and I get that first whiff of ozone, I always think about unwrapping my first Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer… mmmmm, ozone…

Tokamak Fusion Reactors

Today we got one step closer to cutting our dependence on oil. The JAEA got their Tokamak fusion reactor to double the plasma output of the previous record, posted two years ago. The previous record was 16.5 seconds, and the JAEA managed 28.6 seconds. When we reach 400 seconds we should be able to create an extremely safe, prolonged nuclear fusion reaction that can be used to generate electricity. Previously it was thought that this wasn’t going to be possible for another 25 years, but if the plasma generation benchmark doubles every two years, then this should only be 8 years down the road…
